Westfro in Staden, founded in 1970, is owned by the Dick family, a leading player in the food industry. Westfro produces and markets frozen vegetables, vegetable mixes, fruit, potatoes and herbs for customers in retail, foodservice and industry. Currently the third generation is active in the company. In the meantime, 130 enthusiastic permanent employees take care of the daily processing of all vegetables. During the season, this number can increase to 230 permanent employees. In recent years, Westfro has undergone a major technical update. In 2019 and 2020, the company invested 30 million euros in a completely new state-of-the-art packaging hall - the most modern frozen vegetable packaging department in Europe. In addition, new offices, new loading docks and a fully automated staging zone were built.
